All the events of history are directed by supernatural forces, even the smallest matters and minor incidents; “one does not bruise his finger below unless it is decreed on high.”1
This is all the more true regarding events of decisive historical importance, which are surely directed by Providence and whose every turn is interconnected with the divine.
Our sages teach that the wars in our world result from the wars between the celestial princes of the nations in a world higher than our own.[1] [2]
Indeed, it is true in general that external conflict arises out of a cause more fundamental than its outward manifestations.
Conflicting views are deeper than those that are visible and apparent to the eye.
