Let My People Know

Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz: “A person must be cheerful.”

Someone who is upset and inconsolable acts as though he is oppressed and beneath a dark cloud, unable to fully use his talents and ability.

To illuminate the dark, to purify and brighten the instruments of his soul, a person must be cheerful.

He must look at himself and the world with a joyful spirit, a positive will, and a light heart.
