The reason the embodied soul is incapable of experiencing even a hint of its pre-descent attachment to God is that the body, by its very definition, cannot tolerate the levels of love and fear of God its newly endowed soul had attained prior to descending into it.
Such spiritual levels are far too intense and abstract for the body to
bear, and so prevent the soul from accessing any taste of that divine
attachment.
