Some of the ways in which people erroneously categorize themselves are based on social structures.
If one constantly contrasts himself with others, then it will always be possible to find someone who is smaller and more contemptible than he is, someone who deserves to be vilified and slandered.
It may then seem praiseworthy to oppress this other person physically, financially, and in any way possible.
