I come from a nonreligious family, and I have been educated in a strange mixed-up world – a world of nonreligious Israel – but in a very Jewish way.
It is a strange combination.
In my case it was a very Jewish background of people who were interested in being Jewish on the one hand, but on the other hand were, perhaps, entirely irreligious.
From that background I had to fight my way to religion.
