When a person bears up to a test situation, the trial does not serve to hinder him.
In overcoming, he goes beyond it.
Then, all the masks and obstructions to light and life are torn asunder and the Divine vitality manifests and continues to affect him as genuine knowledge of God's presence.
It is a totally personal confrontation.
One stands alone before the adversary, in darkness and apparently without support.
That is the essence of trial.
One has to find the light for oneself, by oneself, the light that is hidden in the severity of the test and waits to be discovered and made manifest.
